WESSEX KIDNEY PATIENTS ASSOCCIATION AGM 13TH SEPTEMBER 2015
HELD AT VIABLES CRAFT CENTRE BASINGSTOKE AT 13.15 HRS
PRESENT: David MacDonald (DM) Catherine West (CW)
APOLOGIES: Tracey Sinclair
Minutes of the last meeting held on 7th September 2014 at the Hampshire Rose, Purbrook, were read but numerous amendments were required so they need to be altered and approved at the next AGM in 2016.
DM thanked everyone for attending the AGM. There have been few activities organised this year, due to lack of support. David asked for suggestions, but that we need enough interested patients to be able to organise coaches etc. He also asked for new committee members.
CW handed out the Finance Report and explained that we have a healthy balance. Patient Welfare has increased as is our aim; we were especially able to help children and their families from Southampton Renal Dept. Also the NKF Conference expenses increased as we paid for Tim Leach and Katie Beel (Business Manager) to attend as Day Delegates. CW also asked for any questions or comments. Keith Cooper asked if any of the donations given to us specifically asked for their money to go towards any particular projects or items. CW replied that the donor’s wishes were always honoured.
DM stated that we have made only a few Welfare Payments, partly due to our new welfare form which requires completing, and a signature by a consultant or senior nurse. Then returning to us with an explanation of the reason for the request and stipulates that no cash will be sent only a cheque to the company supplying the goods or services.
ELECTION OF NEW COMMITTEE
There were no volunteers or resignations so the Committee remains the same.

DM asked for suggestions for any activities that the patients would like us to organise. A couple of suggestions were boat trips on the Basingstoke Canal or the Thames.
